12) Who is your favorite character to write for? Why? Definitely Oliver from Call Me By Your Name. There's a reason I write him so often, lol. I love having a Jewish queer character whose Jewish and queer identities are important to the story. He's also such an enigma. Like, we know so little about him throughout the course of the film. It's clear he's stuggling with his sexuality, and I just really enjoy exploring how and why. I'm also giving General Hux from Star Wars an honourable mention here, for similar reasons. I was also abused by my family, so it's nice to channel all those complex feelings onto a character that doesn't have to do the right thing all the time (or even be particularly nice). ...Apparently, my type is "emotional support twink."
28) What is something you wished you’d known before you started posting fan fiction? Oof, tough question. I started writing fic almost a decade ago, and most of the mistakes I made got ironed out pretty quick. I guess if I could go back in time, I'd tell baby Tori that not every fic is going to be a winner, and that it's okay if you put a lot of time and effort into smth that people didn't resonate with as much. Popularity =/= quality. Also, I wish I'd known about AO3 before I started posting fic. I joined fandom around the time that FFN was taking down stories for seemingly no reason, and I wish I'd known there was a safe haven out there. I also think baby Tori could have really benefitted from the tagging system lol.
